She has a degree in Maritime Electrical and Telecommunications Systems Engineering from the Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique and a master’s degree in Materials Management and Quality from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Conceição Gallis was also an assistant professor at the Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique; a senior technician at the Instituto Portuário e dos Transportes Marítimos as an inspector of Portuguese-flagged ships and Analysis of construction and modification processes, within the technical specialty of radio communications, life-saving appliances and navigation.
She currently works as Head of the Regulations and International Affairs Division; she represents the Portuguese Maritime Administration at meetings of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the European Commission in the technical areas of her specialty.
