Mário Pinho has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked in the ship repair industry for more than 30 years.
He began his career as a ship repair project manager at Solisnor Estaleiros Navais in Setúbal, Portugal, and continued at Lisnave Estaleiros Navais (at the Mitrena shipyard in Setúbal and the Margueira shipyard in Almada) as a ship repair and conversion project manager.
At Lisnave Estaleiros Navais, he was in charge of the Project Management Department before moving to the Commercial Department in the Special Projects Sector.
He was also Commercial and Procurement Director at the Dakarnave ship repair yard in Dakar, Senegal, before returning to Lisnave to join the Commercial Department as Deputy Commercial Director. He later became Commercial Director.
He is currently the Secretary General of the Association of Naval Industries, whose main function is the day-to-day management of its activities. As part of his duties, he represents the Association at Sea Europe (European Maritime Technologies Association) at CIP (Portuguese Business Confederation), as a member of the General Council, and participates in CIP’s advisory councils, namely the Industry Council, the Energy Council and the Strategic Council for the Economy of the Sea.
