Senior Harbour Pilot at the Port of Sines, responsible for piloting a wide range of vessel types and contributing to the port’s work on sustainability, alternative fuels and the energy transition. With a maritime career spanning since 1990, extensive experience aboard commercial vessels, including VLCCs and LPG carriers.

Lecturer at the Portuguese Nautical Academy since 2013, teaching port and maritime technology, maritime safety and cargo stowage systems. Former President of the Portuguese Marine Pilots’ Association (APIBARRA) and Vice-President of the European Maritime Pilots’ Association (EMPA), including service as Chair of the Training and Technical Committee.
