Pedro Ponte has a degree in Engineering and a PhD in Transport Management from the Faculty of Engineering of Porto’s University, as well as a postgraduate qualification in entrepreneurship from the Instituto Superior Técnico. He was also president of the National School of Naval Engineering of the Order of Engineers.

For several years he was a teacher on the Postgraduate Programme in Port Management at the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, while at the same time he was director of Concessions and Engineer at APSS – Administração dos Portos de Setúbal e Sesimbra.

He is currently director of Engineering and Environment at APSS.
