Rui Serafim has a degree in Maritime Navigation Studies (Management) from the Infante D. Henrique Nautical School. He also completed the 4th year of a degree in Naval Military Sciences at the Naval School, and attended a Master’s programme in Transport and Logistics Management – Port Management.
He also holds a postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (Level V) from StudyTrab.
During his 25-year career, he has held various positions, including Deck Officer on container ships and cement carriers at Transinsular; Operations Deputy Manager, Ship Planner and Port Facility Security Officer at PSA in Sines; Vessels Operations Coordinator and Shipping Agency Manager at BOX LINES NAVEGAÇÃO SA, and Operations Manager and Port Captain at MSC and Shipping Manager at AMT in Angola.
He was also a Senior Technical Consultant at Pegasus and an Inspector and Technical Coordinator at RINMAR, DGRM.
He currently serves as Head of the Security Division and Port Security Officer at the Port of Lisbon (APL).
