Tiago Bernardino began his training in maritime rescue in 1991, initially working in different roles.
In 2001, he was stationed at the Ponta Delgada Rescue Station (Azores) and later, for a few years, at the Peniche Rescue Station.
In 2003, he decided to intensify his training with a commitment to a career as a captain and is currently certified as a Coastal Master, a role he performs on a daily basis.
In 2011, he underwent specific training in emergency rescue, urban firefighting and other areas. In 2005, he became a nautical tourism entrepreneur and in 2016, he specialised in nautical tourism on the island of Berlenga.
